Numerical study on Nusselt number of moving phase interface during wax melting in tube using lattice Boltzman method

Paraffin melting is widely applied to the fields of PCM energy storage, gathering and transportation pipe-line paraffin removal, etc. Natural-convection main heat transfer mode during melting, Rayleigh number an important factor affecting change natural-convection intensity. Nusselt variation can reflect influence on transfer. The conventional hot wall surface reflects only convective intensity fixed wall, while it does not take into account that phase interface has characteristics moving in process. A double distribution model transformation circular tube based lattice Boltzmann method established this paper. temperature field flow wax analyzed. process reflected by interface. relation between also presented. results show complex non-linear describe more accurately. Calculation formula proposed. Increasing quicken meet actual engineering requirements.
